Being Married is Fun!

Tim and I have been happily married for 8 days now!! The wedding went perfectly, the honeymoon was a lot of fun, and we are back in Anchorage and loving being married. :-) It is gradually sinking in that we are husband and wife, and that I am now Mrs. Amy Baker! Now the work begins to change my name everywhere! I found a good website to help me remember everywhere to go and who to tell. I've posted pictures of the honeymoon on Facebook, and others have pictures of the wedding on their pages, and as soon as I receive my pictures, I will post them as well. I'm really excited to see them and to see the video.
I was actually more nervous about the rehearsal than the actual ceremony. I couldn't eat much at the rehearsal dinner and that night I prayed really hard for God to help me be calm the next day, and He sure did! I was just happy, and feeling mellow but also excited. Even at the church and getting ready I was a little anxious, but mostly just happy and ready to get it done! During the ceremony I couldn't stop smiling, and I couldn't be happier. :-)
The resort in Playa del Carmen was really nice. It was all-inclusive, and probably mid to upper 80's all week, which after living in Alaska for 9 months, felt really hot! I didn't think it would be that bad, being raised in Texas and used to 90 and 100 degree summers, but it really was a shock.
The food was really good, including a Brazilian restaurant we ate at one night. The beach was beautiful, there were animals everywhere (including wild raccoons that came out at night which was actually a little freaky), and the room was nice and big with our own jacuzzi on the balcony. We took one excursion out to see some Mayan ruins, climbed 120 steps up the highest temple left in the country. We also visited a Mayan village and met some families and got to see how they live. It was a really good trip!
Well, I'm not sure how many more posts on this blog I'll have. I'm just going to be so busy, I just wanted to warn those of you who read this that this may be the last one for a while. If you are just so curious about what's going on in my life, I will try to keep people updated through Facebook, since more and more people are on that.
